3 Months

I'm a little behind. I swear there aren't enough hours in the day anymore. But I am loving being a mom! It is the best job ever. So let me rewind and give you Draek's 2 month stats.

2 Months
12 lb. 5 oz. (75%)
25 in. long (100+%)
Holding his head up really good
Loves being outside
Loves baths
Not a fan of the pacifier
Doesn't like naps
Has the cutest smile :)

3 Months
Between 13-14 lb.
26 in. long
Loves his jumper
Will not take a pacifier
Loves outside
Loves going on runs with Mom
Is officially in 3-6 month clothes
Is totally a Momma's boy (but I can't really complain about that)
Likes dogs, especially Grandma Larsen's dog Sparkles
Loves singing primary songs with Mom

He sure knows how to get sympathy from Grandma :)

As for me, I've been keeping busy. My sister Kelcie and I ran the ColorRun 5k in Rexburg over the 4th of July weekend and had so much fun! We ran it in about 35 minutes which was under our goal of 45 and got nice and colorful along the way. Yay us!

It was great to get back and start running again. I'm training up for a 10k in September and a half marathon in November. I'm giving myself lots of time to train and work up to it :) But I'm way excited to have found a good hobby. Oh and I'm SO grateful for a husband who woke up early on a Saturday, drove to Rexburg, and took care of Draek so I could run. He's the best!

We're just feeling so grateful to be parents to such a cute and (mostly) happy little boy. He sure keeps us busy and we are so blessed!

9 months later...

So I know it's been a while and things have changed just a little bit :) So I'd like to introduce:

Jesse Draek Larsen
Born April 9, 2013
7 lb. 15 oz.

He is such a good little boy and we can't imagine life without him now. The past month has been so much fun learning and adjusting to being parents. I feel so blessed to be a mom.

When he was just 6 days old we were brave and went to a newborn photo shoot. Here are a few pictures from the shoot. (Thanks to Caralee Case for her awesome photos!

I'm so happy with how they turned out. It was so great to capture him while he was so small. Right now he's only 5 weeks old, but already he's so much bigger. So here's some stats on him today.

He is 10 lb. 6 oz.
Loves to swing
Likes going on walks with mommy (we're training for a 10k)
Is starting to smile
Sleeps between 5-7 hours at night (YES!)
Loves to snuggle
And is super good at holding up his head.

Again, I feel so blessed to be the mom to Draek and wife to Jesse. I have the best boys in my life and I am so lucky to have them!

Hello Montana

This summer has been full of good times. About 6 months ago, I saw this picture on pinterest...
and I told Jesse I wanted to go see it. This amazing picture was taken in Glacier National Park Montana. It just so happened, that Jesse's boss had been to Glacier. They started talking about it and before I knew it, we were planning our trip! (Unfortunately, I never saw the place in the picture, I'm sure it's in the backwoods somewhere, where regular hikers/campers cannot get to.)

We planned our trip for the end of July, borrowed a camper, loaded up on food for a week, bought bear spray (which we thankfully never had to use), packed our stuff and hit the road! So here's some pictures from our little adventure. (Prepare yourself, there are a lot of pictures. I won't be offended if you don't look at them all :)

Our first campground-A parking lot at a friends in Rexburg.

3 Bucks in Whitefish

Our 2nd Campground-An RV park in Whitefish

Lake McDonald

These next few are on Apgar Trail in Glacier. It was a little harder than we expected...7.2 miles round trip straight up a mountain the size of Pomerelle.

We made it! I was a little exhausted.

The road we had to drive down. Our camper barely made it :)

Our 3rd campgound-Fish Creek at Glacier

Lake McDonald at Sunrise

This moose was just chillin' by the road. He looked a little confused.

Hiking John's Lake Loop
(Jesse got eaten alive on this trail by mosquitos. We never forgot bug spray after that.)

Some sweet rapids, and of course Jesse has to get as close as he can.

The water was so blue and clear. It was beautiful.

The waterfalls on Avalanche Lake Trail.

This little chipmunk was not scared of us...he tried to steal our granola.

More rapids

Scenes from the Going to the Sun Road

The road is only 16 feet wide so passing other cars was a bit precarious.

The Weeping Wall

The Triple Arches

Our 5th Campsite-Rising Sun

Probably my favorite waterfalls...St. Mary's Falls

Virginia Falls

The Lodge at Many Glaciers. There are 2 other lodges in Glacier and they are all HUGE!

Our 4th Campsite-Avalanche Campground
I know out of order, but we actually forgot to take a picture while we were there so on our way back we stopped to take a picture but our spot was taken. Luckily they were gone so we just hurried and parked and snapped the picture.

More Waterfalls

Well, that was our trip. It was SO much fun and we will definitely have to go back (though we might not do the Apgar Trail again...)
